Payroll Administrator/HR Generalist

Job Summary: 


To process semi-monthly payroll, run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing Firm policies and practices.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None. 

Duties/Responsibilities:


•    Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll and other benefit systems; information may include employees’ hourly rates, salaries, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholdings, address changes, and other information.
•    Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits and other deductions.
•    Maintains 401K vendor system and provides timely processing of employee deferrals.
•    Reconciles payroll to the general ledger and reconciles monthly bank statements.
•    Records and processes multi-state payroll & benefit related filings, as necessary. 
•    Implements employee on-boarding and off-boarding. 
•    Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
•    Acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
•    Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:


•    Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 
•    Proficient with payroll software and the Microsoft Office suite of software 
•    Thorough knowledge of employment related laws and regulations.
•    Ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
•    Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•    Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.


Education and Experience:


•    High school diploma or equivalent required. Secondary education a plus.
•    3-5 years of related experience required.
